A Romantic Getaway an Hour and a Half Away

This year, Valentine's Day blessed us with a three-day-weekend, an extra day of fun and a better opportunity to hit the road out of Pullman to enjoy some entertainment.

For those looking for a somewhat close adventure, Spokane is less than an hour and a half away, and totally worth the drive. With plenty of restaurants, hotels, and entertainment, Spokane is the place to go on Valentine's Day for both lovers and friends.

If a dinner date is of interest, book early a table for two at the Steamplant Grill, a historic restaurant built into an actual steamplant that ran in Spokane for almost 70 years. They offer a full dinner menu, an extensive list of wine and plenty of beer to choose from. This downtown restaurant is popular so book your reservations early, or you may have no chance.

Riverfront Park is the perfect place for a relaxing day. If it's sunny, enjoy a picnic in the park, and a ride on the Spokane Falls SkyRide. Hours are Open Friday - Sunday 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $7.25.

If the wether is not so sunny, or even if you're just looking for an indoor adventure, go ice skating at the Riverfront Park Ice Palace. The Ice Palace is recognized as one of the best outdoor skating rinks in the nation. Hours are Friday, Saturday (and nights before holidays) 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Sundays (Valentine's Day) Noon - 4:00 p.m. (Closed Sunday Night).  Tickets are $4.25 for adults and skate rentals are $3. The Ice Palace is open till Feb. 28 so don't miss out on this memorable opportunity.

Plenty of activities await you on this getaway so plan ahead and have fun! Enjoy the three-day-weekend and enjoy your special day!
